On September 23, Manchester United officially announced the shortlist for September's Player of the Month award.

The team hoped to achieve better results during this congested fixture period. In the opening Champions League match, the team defeated Shabakku convincingly. The other two matches ended in draws against Everton and Fulham, while the team also suffered defeats to Manchester City and Brighton.

These five matches gave numerous players the chance to showcase their abilities, with eight players receiving initial nominations for the award. Among them, three players received the most votes internally—Mainoo, Tielemans, and Cunha. The final winner will be determined by fan votes.
