On September 24, Chelsea's official website released a program where Morgan Rogers discussed on "CFC Unlocked" how his loan spells taught him to cope with the successes, failures, and setbacks of his career.

Rogers gave an in-depth interview at Chelsea's training ground. He demonstrated his knowledge of the Premier League in a Q&A game and also talked about his childhood experience as a ball boy at West Brom, and how that experience inspired him to become a footballer.

Rogers also reflected on his start after joining Chelsea this summer and his journey to Stamford Bridge. He believes that his first real exposure to consistent first-team football during his loan spell at Middlesbrough was the most significant experience of his career.

Rogers had loan spells at Lincoln City, AFC Bournemouth, and Blackpool before permanently joining Championship side Middlesbrough, then returning to the Premier League with Aston Villa and subsequently Chelsea.

Speaking about how these loan experiences impacted his development, Rogers said: "It was all important. I needed the next challenge, I needed to take the next step. I needed to get out of my comfort zone and figure out what kind of player I would become in professional football.

"If you look at how I was in the academy, I don't think that's the same player you see every week now.

"I've completely changed into a different player, and I had to learn that during my loan spells. Academy football can teach you some skills and technical aspects of the game, after all, football is football.

"But the real way the game is played, the opponent's desire to win, what the game demands, what teams are willing to do to win and how they will do it—these are things that academy football cannot replicate; only senior football has them.

"Getting those experiences so young and so early allowed me to continue improving and developing over time. By the time I was ready to take the next step, I had already experienced the highs and lows, knew how to deal with setbacks, and understood how to adapt to different playing styles.

"So I think it really helped me become who I am today. Everyone's path is different. I wasn't ready then. I needed time to grow, to learn, to understand myself better, and also time to reach the level I knew I could achieve."
