Germany drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in Klopp's first match in charge. In a post-match interview with RTL, Klopp praised the team's fighting spirit and the performance of several players. He also discussed the disallowed goal, injuries to Havertz and Musiala, and the late equalizer conceded.

Klopp said: "It felt good most of the time. Many things worked out as we had envisioned."

On the match performance

Klopp said: "We started the game very well, but then had great difficulties for ten minutes. I was very satisfied with the individual performances of many players and also with the fighting spirit shown by the whole team. We can definitely play better and produce more football quality. Some of the problems were self-inflicted. You could see that this was a very tough game for both teams."

On the disallowed goal by Van Dijk

Klopp said: "I thought at the time that the referee would review it. That's the rule, and we defended according to that rule. Brobbey's body was almost square, and Marc couldn't get around him at all. It was a well-taken corner, but it was a foul. According to the current rules, that's how it should be called."

On the injuries to Havertz and Musiala

Klopp said: "Unfortunately, both of them felt discomfort in their thighs. They are undergoing MRI scans now. I hope to get the diagnosis tonight and hope that the injuries are not too serious. They may not be able to play for us for a while, but I hope they recover and play again relatively quickly."

On whether Musiala's current injury was related to his previous momentary lapses due to neurological dysfunction

Klopp said: "No. I was next to him during his warm-up. This is not good news, but in a way it is good news because it is a normal football injury. He looked relaxed, but of course he had pressure and was worried about similar situations happening again. Now we found that didn't happen; he just got injured like anyone else. In a way, this is a return to normalcy."

On Nmecha's 1-0 goal and Germany not stopping play at that time

Klopp said: "We have to look at it this way: the rules allow play to continue. We took advantage of this opportunity very well, and the Dutch players didn't stop playing at that time. Nmecha played an excellent game and scored the goal."

On Gnabry losing possession in the final stages and the Netherlands subsequently equalizing

Klopp said: "Losing possession can happen; that's not the problem itself. But Serge needed to carry the ball forward and get rid of it at that time, and he knows that himself. We really wanted to win here. We will remember the feeling this game gave us. Of course, I really wanted to win, but I can also accept this point."
