According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda, Ronaldo's international career may be over after Jesus broke a promise about his playing time.

This is Sepulveda's assessment of the 41-year-old's departure from Portugal's training camp ahead of their UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Ronaldo issued a statement on Wednesday evening, telling fans he would "tell the truth" and explain why he suddenly left the team.
His sister, Elma Aveiro, subsequently spoke out strongly on social media, saying that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was not shown the respect he deserved.
Why did Ronaldo leave the Portugal training camp?
Ronaldo left the Portuguese national team just three days after their 2-1 away victory over Norway.
This was the first match since 2008 in which the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend had not featured.
After the incident, Jesus stated there was no problem with the veteran and emphasized that he had always known Ronaldo would not play in Oslo.
However, according to Sepulveda, although both parties had previously agreed that Ronaldo would not participate in Portugal's two away matches in Scandinavia, Jesus told him he would come on as a substitute against Norway.
Sepulveda stated on The Sports Bar program: "Ronaldo and new coach Jesus agreed that he would only play the first and last matches."
"So across these four matches, Ronaldo would only play the two matches in Portugal, and he would be on the bench for the two away matches."
"The initial idea was that Ronaldo would stay and train in Portugal, but he decided to travel with the team to Denmark and Norway, even though he knew he wouldn't play in those matches."
"Where did the problem arise? On the morning of the Norway match, the coach approached Ronaldo and said, 'Listen, I'm going to give you 30 minutes in this game.' This was completely contrary to their previous agreement."
"But Ronaldo replied, 'Okay, if you need me, I'm always ready to play.' So he mentally and physically prepared himself to play for 30 minutes."
"Then the plan proceeded as normal. Jesus sent Ronaldo to warm up, and everyone saw him warming up, with the fans in the stadium waiting for him to enter the game."
"But in the end, Ronaldo didn't play a single minute."
