According to Sport Mediaset, former Internazionale player Valero stated that Internazionale plays better when Lautaro is on the pitch.

Valero described the start of the season as "surprising" in an interview, adding: "There are indeed questions about some teams that have changed coaches. Internazionale's squad strength is superior to all other teams, and Roma is no longer surprising because Gasperini always does a good job. Without doubt, Roma will be Internazionale's main rival, although there will be other contenders. Internazionale is still the team everyone wants to beat."

Speaking about Lautaro, Valero said: "He is a player who can drive the team; whenever he is on the pitch, the team plays better." He also added: "Yes. I think he has proven himself to be one of the best players in the league in his position."
