According to South Korean media outlet MK Sports, Pohang Steel Yard, the home stadium of Pohang Steelers, will reopen after structural reinforcement. The team will return to their home ground to face Johor Darul Ta'zim in the AFC Champions League Elite.

In August 2026, during a league match between Pohang Steelers and Ulsan HD at Pohang's home stadium, a piece of concrete fell from the ceiling above the away team's stand, injuring a spectator's hand.
Following the incident, Pohang Steelers immediately initiated a comprehensive safety inspection and began repair and reinforcement work. Areas with safety concerns were dismantled and rebuilt, and stainless steel protective covers were installed to prevent corrosion.
It is reported that multiple safety assessment agencies inspected the stadium and confirmed that there were no issues with holding home matches. After receiving approval from the Korea Professional Football League to host home games, the club finally confirmed its return to the home stadium. In addition, the pitch has also been replaced.
